College of Education

The College of Education at Istiqama University is dedicated to shaping the architects of the future. Recognizing that educators are the backbone of any society, particularly in the unique cultural landscape of Zanzibar, our curriculum blends modern pedagogical theory with practical classroom experience. We emphasize “Reflective Practice,” encouraging our students to not only deliver information but to understand the psychological and social development of their pupils. From the specialized nuances of teaching Arabic as a second language to the complex logistics of school administration, the college provides a nurturing yet rigorous environment. Our graduates leave with more than just a degree; they possess the empathy, patience, and leadership skills required to inspire learners and manage educational systems with excellence. We believe in empowering teachers who will, in turn, empower the next generation of East African leaders.
